Local nurse Bess Blakey, RN BSN, launches new IV therapy business

IV therapy is on the rise across the United States as people seek out evidence-based alternative treatments to support their health. IV infusions are regularly used in hospital settings to aid rehydration after a stomach bug or morning sickness, or tissue recovery after surgery. With IV therapy, the same treatment can be used whenever you need it, such as to recover from an intense athletic event or even as a hangover cure. IVs can be administered with or without vitamins such as high-dose vitamin C to boost the immune system.

“I chose this business because I’m passionate about supporting people’s health, and I’m excited about being my own boss,” said Blakey. She also is happy about the flexible hours; as a mother of four active daughters, she’s used to juggling schedules.

Palouse Mobile IV provides IV therapy as well as vitamin injections to customers in their home or office, or at the clinic located at 325 W Palouse River Drive. Each IV is administered after a telehealth appointment with a physician.

With IV therapy, vitamins, minerals, electrolytes, amino acids and peptides are delivered directly to your bloodstream, meaning they bypass the digestive system altogether. “This can be especially beneficial if you’re nauseated or have gut issues,” said Blakey.

If the physician approves, nausea medication and non-narcotic pain medication can be included in the infusions, if necessary. Blakey can also provide direct injections of Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Glutathione, and more.

All services provided at the clinic location are 20% off for the month of February for new clients. Visit PalouseMobileIV.com to learn more or to request an appointment. Walk-in appointments may be available on a first-come, first-served basis from 9-2 on Tuesdays. Request an appointment on their website to ensure service.
